starkware hq is in Israel, many web2/web3 audit company (Certora etc.) is in Israel.

Yes, assuming software is written correctly which is a very hard problem! From code itself (backdooring in algorithm, vulnerability) to supplying the hardware (Lebanon pager supply chain attack) there are things that can and will go wrong. The fact that Israeli security company is still trusted even when they violating journalists and activists with their malware or executing largest supply chain bomb ever so marked them off the industry forever.

For sure, we shouldn't trust adversarial entities when we have something that relies on that trust. But the premise of cryptocurrency is that we can build robust mechanisms that survive adversarial conditions.
