On Sunday I'm going to San Francisco for the first time ever. Heard so much negative stuff about it on the pod. What should I expect (as a European)?

Horror, despair, anarcho-tyranny. Also, don't leave so much as a random thought in your parked car, as it'll get stolen.

It’s going to be beautiful and scenic. If you go seeking out unpleasant experiences, then sure, you’ll be able to find them. If you have a sense of which neighborhoods you’ll be in, I can offer more specifics.

The negative is greatly exaggerated, but that said, don't leave anything valuable in your car after your park it. If you're scared of poverty avoid the neighborhoods by city hall. Definitely visit golden gate park, lands end park, the presidio and if you're into touristy stuff, fisherman's wharf.

A lot of different cultures here, all getting along for the most part. Amazing restaurants and places to walk around. Like any big city, you should keep your wits about you, but don’t be scared to explore SF.
