I would have automatically added all followers as members, so you can manually weed out bad actors instead of manually adding every person who has not resulted to spam

I bet that if there's any continued growth on this app it'll be in the open channels that let anybody join with a single click. It's the only place where newcomers can feel they're welcome to contribute. Yes it doesn't solve the moderation problem, but locking the doors everywhere doesn't solve the moderation problem either.

I hate that some accounts never come up in my feed, I came here by accident too.

The update is weird, probably leads to some tyranny where any channel can ban you from using it. 
No support for small users has been added. I don't know. It's very controversial
