Is there an established 3rd party DC system built on Farcaster outside of Warpcast?

the DM system of Warpcast does not use Farcaster protocol. Is a regular backend DM system. Most apps that work with Farcaster as a client they either don't have a DM system or use XMTP. Personally, I think centralized DM systems have performed a little better XMTP has a huge volume of spam and is pretty slow.

I would rather just build on top telegram n use it as a front end. as it’s an already established meta in crypto.

That's not a bad idea, I did once a scrapper of telegram groups back when yup was getting articles from telegram, I used telegram API by registering an app. Never saw a DM system built on top of telegram but it might be possible. Also on top of Twitter is possible as API with user credentials can give you access to read/write DMs. Also Discord would be a good candidate. But yeah is definitely better if you can build on top of a popular network. Only issue is that people might be wary to give such permissions after all is a security risk, if you have your own in house system risk is much smaller. For example guild xyz asks for maximum GitHub permissions, all repos including private read/write I was afraid to grant such risky permissions. So yeah if you ask DM permissions ppl might freak out.
