In 2021 a friend and I booked a trip to Hawaii just 16 hours before leaving. We had no plans, so started DMing mutual followers on Instagram to see if any local could show us around

Next thing I knew, we were staying at this guy's family's house on Maui and he brought us all around the island. Top tier experience

Slept on a comfy couch and I played ping pong with his dad for like 2 hours one morning

Was a shot in the dark, but so glad we did it. Probably one of my favorite travel experiences
