New product from Cloudflare - Workflows https://developers.cloudflare.com/workflows/ I don't fully understand how it's different from their Queues product but seems interesting

difference to queue is the scheudle + durability. queue worker could also have all the schedule and if the queue is long enough you may even get to weeks of data retention so you can retry jobs and all of it, but workflows are built for these cases while queues are generally more get this just over and done with cc @downshift.eth @rafi and @rjs for the real knowlege

This product is a direct response to Temporal.com and AWS Lambda Step Functions which provide something what is now called „durable execution” which basically means running some predefined process across extended period of time. Think insurance, ecommerece refunds, and anything that must keep state beyond runtime of the app that needs to keep local state. Effect.ts also works on similar open source solution with Clusters. s/o to @samuellhuber.eth for a s/o :)

workflows more like step functions (in aws) ... like state machine composed of lambdas. queue simple data structure (or sqs on aws), no control flow
