We treat humans so much differently based on individual traits. So much range in IQ, character traits, etc. Yet, we kind of treat/accept animals based on a single character: their specie. I am curious whether there is as much variance in personal traits of other animals/mammals, as there is among humans.

Animals have a huge range of character traits, intelligence, types of intelligence, etc. The dog example was a good one - you cannot train any dog to do search and rescue, emotional support or other services. Dogs have been bred for thousands of years precisely because of their variations in character traits. This cast seems to speak to your personal worldview rather than that of humanity, but its really cool that youre at the precipice of your journey to see and notice the variances in personalities of other species that we share the planet with Spend a week next to a cow pasture and you will see so much variety of traits in every cow
