yes since the banking crisis this is the situation for most locals in the country... may have increased to something like $400 per month withdrawals per family or something like that but banks have no USD liquidity

and Lebanese pounds are so volatile that Uber here operates on a current best offer system since the value of booked price can change drastically btwn time reserved and time the car arrives lol

even so cost of living remains high, felt pretty equivalent to US costs if in nice areas ($5 coffee, $12 drinks, $50 long Uber rides). but also an incredibly beautiful country with lovely welcoming people! absolutely one of my favorite places I've visited in last few years
