A non siloed / self managed smart wallet provider will take it all. The incentives with smart wallets providers are structured towards locking in with users. That needs to change in order to avoid having one wallet per service, it will mimic all the web2 experiences losing the benefits of the tech

Had a super nice long talk today with @ghostlinkz.eth about the status or the market, how music tech is going, what is and is not important for artists and products trying to find the right spot for music, maybe even the critical aspects needed to push it forward. A lot of education and clarity is needed in order use the web3 capabilities safely and wisely for music. What does it really mean to "own" something digital when we talk about music. How important is understanding the legals around music and what we can do about with the usage of specific tokenizations. We'll push it forward with /songs-tools I'll try to keep updating around next steps. A lot to do, but just specifics to address correctly.

I'm going to start testing a feature to easily migrate already uploaded music to streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple music, ...) to /songs-tools I'm looking for two musicians with catalog already up willing to test it out bringing an album to the protocol. We'll buy $50 worth of SongShares ($0,10 - 0,25 per SongShare max) in exchange

Publish After the release is done, you can remove from your old distributor and start receiving your earnings in USDC on your account

Yep, yep, @privy We are releasing a nice feature this week where we need to batch ~10-20 transactions into a single action and hide the smart wallet prompt (from each subaction) from the user to reduce friction. The issue is that the showWalletUIs parameter in both normal and batched transactions does not remove the prompt and we end up with almost 20 prompts. We need to evolve beyond the “onchain” dogma. The only real value lies in why building products with this technology is better than their old peers or create new better experiences. If there is no real value in the proposals, they will all be confined to the same echo chamber. Add value.

This week at /songs-tools we've got: - Launched the first home page with the music created in the protocol - Started Album aggregation for catalogs migration feature. - Web2 catalog Migrations progress, on it --> Albums are a pain in the ass, as they live only on web2 and are composed in many ways --> Get metadata from already created music in spotify --> Prefill all data for the artist music migration to songs --> Easy create its onchain song for the artist. - Now you received an email when someone buys you a SongShare - UI mobile improvements all around - Many improvements in the metadata migration from web3 -> web2 music distribution layer. +80 artists created accounts (non crypto users) quite crazy +20 people started registering to buy artists SongShares of artists. 💖 💖 Off topic: We are crazy for finding a way in order to generate a proof of valid artist on Spotify for Artists, not just a spotify user, an artist. And then permit to use that proof freely.

This past week in /songs-tools we’ve got done: - First 120 users in (~95% of users were web2 musicians who never touched crypto before) - First +60 songs created in the protocol - First +20 songs in releasing process to streaming platforms (Spotify...) - Fixed a few releasing tracks issues for in app validations - Started an spotify batch migration tool to permit artists to easily migrate their music to SONGS Distributor from other music distributors. - Improved ui for SongShares representation - Fully integrated @privy + @coinbase Smart Wallet + gasless and signless txs. All in @base. Amazing UX can be built on top, congrats. (My mind is full of ideas) - Created ui to easily bring you received SongShares on an EOA to your Songs Smart Account. ( it was a pain in the ass to explain to users )
