People who are interested in living in a long-term network state node (so, permanent location, not popup), what are some properties that you would like such a node to have?

I live in a really small village. I like that my local network here is very dens. I know all my neighbors and I know hobby’s and job of their relatives that might not even live in the village. I did a lot of art and film projects. This involved my open, loose and very wide reaching network. But it did not supply me with the many things my dense village network can give. For instance: I needed pulleys for a project. My neighbor from across the street told me to go to his friend just outside the village who restores old boats. He was the exact right person to help me. Another example: I was googling all day to find out the thread on a couple of weird screws I had. On the street I talked to a passerby about this (thats what you do in a small community) and he suggest to go to the blacksmith. He apparently had a specific tool to measure the threaded screw, walked to the back of his shop and gave me the exact right screws! It took minutes. I’m a small, dense local network state guy ever since.
