Keep in mind natural fibers like cotton that have been bathed in noxious chemicals to produce the fibers are also holding less than ideal compounds against the skin Patagonia has a whole thing on this which is how they choose their cotton sources, based on the chemical prep for the fibers by their supply chain partner

I've been heavily merino-pilled, and have been slowing switching everything I can (except cheap workout clothes) to merino. Pants, shirts, underwear, socks, all of it.

This is why I only buy clothes at thrift stores, look for classics made from high quality, 100% cotton, wool, linen. Anything new made with the same quality would be too expensive to produce at a profit, so is going to have cut corners.

Polyester is literally just plastic. Microplastics in the water are predominantly from people just doing laundry. Everything I wear is cotton or wool.
