What would that actually look like? In terms of Cuban doing what Elon did but pro-Dem. I don’t think a counterfactual is very useful here because it would change everything about that scenario if Dems were not the ones largely in control of the major institutions in the US for a long time. It’s not an even comparison. Basically I’d take threats much more seriously when there is reason to believe somebody can actually execute

Oh and US diplomacy explicitly states they will punish countries (Europe) that hurt his products. US becomes a protection racket for donors. Honestly, it's much easier when you accept, as Dan has clearly stated, that they care little for any specific policy, it's strictly about owning the libs. It's closer to pure tribal nihilism.

I was already anticipating this, but without the substantive results of fully cracked private industry. federal government would become even more of a pedantocracy, and a majority of the population would be decimated by CoL and no town square to air their grievances peacefully. interest on the national debt would not only stay above military spending, but would also engulf entitlements as debt jubilees like college debt forgiveness would be attempted. tech would harden supranationally, to the point that export controls and other methods would fruitlessly target dissidents, and eventually this would by amplified by multiple OOM, by foreign APTs. a catastrophic deepfake campaign would add salt to the wounds of the CoL spiral, further decimating 70+ Americans with the common sense to refuse such a dying of the light.

But is there an enemy within? In my view there is If what has gone on justifies using the military personnel to help to clean it all up and put it back as it should be, then I would be all for military being used Corruption breeds like mold, it takes a lot to rid of it sometimes
