> Users own their data on Farcaster in stark contrast to traditional social media platforms where user data is often harvested and sold to advertisers. Farcaster gives users the peace of mind that their information is theirs alone. I don’t think this is entirely accurate. While it’s true that no one can delete your data without your permission, all data on FC is open and accessible to anyone. For example, I could collect all your casts and keep a copy, even if you delete them later. This data could then be used to train an AI model to impersonate you, or even be sold. The legality of this is unclear, but the potential for misuse is definitely there for all FC users. Additionally, if you’re familiar with how hubs work, they could potentially coordinate to censor users. And although FC is a protocol with multiple clients, most people primarily use WC. This means that if WC decides to censor u for any reason, ur casts may effectively disappear from view for most users, as they aren’t on other clients
