Good question. But the answer is gona be that all the other guys (Twitter, Instagram, etc) are also reporting meaningless metrics so nothing to see here. When cheering about the growing DAU metric on FC, I’d love to see some attempt at breaking down how many are qDAU vs spam.

The big issue is how to control for quality at the protocol level. If it can’t be solved there, then it falls on each client, WC being the dominant one. It’s also about the incentives that are in place. We all know why all these farmers are here. They have good incentive to spam, and WC let it happen.

Seems like people are working on solving that problem - @geoffgolberg , @jtgi @sayangel  - none connected to merkle but the beauty of permissionless means anyone can jump in and solve 

Wouldn’t call the metrics meaningless- think that goes too far. But does help to put additional context before blindly cheering
