Just finished The Master Switch - a great overview of the history of telecommunications in the US from a systems perspective. One interesting perspective from the book is people blame cable/internet for dividing America (filter bubbles, etc.) but that was the norm before the big broadcast oligopoly of NBC/CBS/ABC

Imagine how ridiculous the bloopers would be for perplexity or OpenAI if there were serving 8.5 billion queries a day. The worst 0.001% of outcomes happen almost 100k times a day. Law of large numbers at work. Anyone betting against google will look silly in 5 years IMO
