Why do comment threads get hidden? Even when the most liked cast in the back and forth is farther down the reply chain?

Once you click into a main cast in the feed, a lot of the back and forth replies are hidden after 1 or 2 casts 

You have to keep clicking on casts to see the full back n forth

in the feed? 

we only show the top level replies today, plan to add functionality to show deeper threads in the future.
