Most of what I’ve seen called “growth” from dev day is really product and not at all about distribution 

i understand focusing on building a product that has clear differentiation/PMF but FC/WC disregards distribution   to an extent that’s pretty surprising for a social product

Product vs Distribution is a good high level frame, but you have to adjust it for your vertical. 

Anyone who has built social will tell you it’s not a great idea to focus on top of funnel until you have a good d30 retention, and bad retention is usually caused by things not working in the product. 

We have had solid d30 in the past, especially around frames launch but now it’s lower and we need to fix that first before worrying about top of funnel

My critique isn’t to fully focus on distribution but a little thought and effort into making onboarding/network effects easier would be worthwhile imo

Did you all shift focus at all when there was solid d30 in the past around frames launch?
