they could anyway (download and mint) but we're experimenting with making the most convenient way to do so, one where you get paid. the reasoning is that, as a creator, when you create something of value, you should "mint first, then distribute." you might post and then think, damn i should mint that, and now you can!

this is the very first iteration. controversial yes, but if you follow along with discussion, you'll see a very simple tweak transforms it completely.

we can make it so only the original caster can deploy. instead of "where's the mint button" replies, fans can use the action button, and a frame helps artist directly.

This is a horrible idea. 

Artists should be able to share their artwork on FC, minted, WIP or otherwise, without fear that some random person will mint it without their permission , on a random contract they don't own it control 

This allows anyone to re-mint artwork that already is minted elsewhere, spuriously

i can't think it through alone. it's an experiment and building in public this way is helpful. a little controversial at the get-go aids with distribution and breadth of feedback/input. you don't approaching things in a similar way with fuckthesystem.eth in your bio? we can make it so only original caster can deploy.

seems like you're eager to be seen as doing something innovative without actually thinking it through, yikes.

yeah. i think initial concerns are that our work would make it easier for people to steal and mint other people's work. but that can be said for any tooling that streamlines the artist ux. but we are iterating quickly to suit the artists. because that's who we are building for. action sports performers are artists too.

I understand the concerns people are raising here but unless I’m misunderstanding something… isn’t this already all possible (anyone can mint anything they want now)?

responded to another post of yours for posterity. but yes, would be ideal for CC0, but as we iterate quickly, only the original caster will be able to deploy. it's more a way for people to signal their desire to collect, in a fun way that streamlines the artist ux, and rewards curator. using action invokes a frame etc

Allowing this is the CC0 channel makes sense. Or an opt-in per post else this is a slippery @$$ legal slope.

please make this action require an opt-in and approval by the original creator (i.e. original caster).

i do not want everything and anything i share here to be instantly mintable by anyone.

i appreciate the concept, tho it needs some rails to empower creator sovereignty. creator rights must be respected.

This ain’t good - people can mint whenever they want (it’s quite easy)…

Please create an artist / original caster opt in before doing this.

This literally feels like the “right click save” of minting. 

As an artist, I don’t want people minting my artwork that I share as a cast.

This should be opt-in.

And before anyone says it, just because someone can, doesn’t mean they should, or that you should make it easier for them to.
