Yeah, I think it was just conspiracy when first proposed, but it turned out to be prophetic. LLMs evolved to a level of being able to write content for social platforms a long time back. As in, pre-GPT3. Reddit was a perfect staging ground for that. The process just massively accelerated over the past 2 years.

Yeah, when people spoke about interference being run on reddit (from electioneering to shoving mental viewpoints down your throat en masse), a common belief was it just wouldn't be possible to infiltrate a site of that size. A few hundred VPN'd accounts running off LLMs and upvoting eachother would accomplish it easy.
