Models like o3 will be a huge boon for well rounded software engineers that think of systems and products end to end. I worked closely with many brilliant people at Google, several of them with Ivy League PhDs that were expert mathematicians and puzzle solvers (held records across the Bay Area escape rooms). They were want o3 was benchmarked against. I suck at all that yet I brought very different skills to the table which helped me get to Staff+ SWE even though I entered at the same level as a new grad without an advanced degree.

There is no system design or product engineering benchmark yet. I am curious what the o3 score would be if one was added.

That'd be interesting to see. Then there's this... https://warpcast.com/gabrielayuso.eth/0xb67d689b

Hmm. I don’t believe in passion as a differentiator and I think AI can learn taste as it’s just patterns.

Yeah I don’t agree. 1. Taste is patterns, ai can learn patterns 2. Intuition - ai can poll humans for this if it really needs it, but intuition is also derived from patterns. 3. Resilience - ai can work all day and all night, humans can’t. I also already mute this person since he alternates between meh ai takes and misogynistic takes.
