The biggest thing that slows me down right now is setting things up from scratch in new environments. Once they're up and running.

I'm also not using a lot of heavy tooling until it's needed or if it's quicker to set up than doing the simplest thing. (i.e. postgres vs sqlite, former has more managed options)

Some random things I've found that pay dividends quickly:
- terraform
- OpenAPI specs
- adding source code to Gemini in AI studio (or custom GPT)
- abstracting managed services so they're swappable & testable
- testcontainers

I'll check them out. Never heard of them.

I'm currently on Railway since I'm keeping my setup simple and I don't have to do much there. Taking advantage of their CI/CD with GitHub to keep everything up to date.

I'll see how it goes once I launch and get more usage.

Agreed. The opportunity cost of excessive setup time hurts.
