Right now is excellent example of how DC works

For a long time TikTok ban has had bi-partisan steam. Now, that ban will act as a sweetener, tied passing a law to spy on Americans w/o a warrant and fund a war Congress never voted on

The catch? The ban won’t have teeth. TT will exist all the same but under a new corp

Having TT operate as a separate US co had been the goal all along right? What is wrong with this? They will spy on us the same way Facebook, Snap, Google, etc. Why single out TT?

So we are OK with internal spying/harm (e.g. Cambridge Analytics) or trash? The main point is that US co's haven't been able to build a compelling alternative and we're resorting to banning it.

2) medium is the message. It’s trash that’s making the public dumber
