Tip for folks thinking of moving to LA: if you like sun and warmth, don't live on the west side. If you like a slightly warmer version of SF though, the west side is great!

If you want to live close-ish to the beach, somewhere like Baldwin Hills or East Culver. If I had to move again in LA, I'd probably be somewhere east like Atwater Village or Highland Park.

Atwater if you have a family. Silver Lake if you can find a place near the lake. Frog Town if you’re a cyclist. Highland Park if you want cool nightlife.
