🗣️Jan 23 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday ordered the creation of a cryptocurrency working group tasked with proposing new digital asset regulations and exploring the creation of a national cryptocurrency stockpile, making good on his promise to quickly overhaul U.S. crypto policy. The much-anticipated action also ordered that banking services for crypto companies be protected, alluding to industry claims that U.S. regulators have directed lenders to cut crypto companies off from banking services - something regulators deny. The order also banned the creation of central bank digital currencies in the U.S. which could compete with existing cryptocurrencies.

🐶🌪️ Bitwise has officially submitted a registration filing for a dogecoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) as memecoin demand grows within the market. A "Bitwise Dogecoin ETF" was submitted late Wednesday and appeared on the Department of State's Division of Corporations in the U.S. state of Delaware. Such filings may often be a spoof, but Bitwise confirmed the registration in a message to The Block. A Delaware registration is a preliminary step taken before submitting an official ETF proposal to the SEC. It establishes the legal entity that would manage the potential ETF, but is not the same as filing for ETF approval with the SEC.

Most alternative coins have turned green today after yesterday’s retracements. Solana and Dogecoin have popped up as the top performers, with both gaining around 6%. As a result, SOL has risen to over $250, while DOGE, which exploded yesterday at one point, is now above $0.36. ETH, XRP, BNB, and ADA have posted minor gains, while TRX, LINK, and AVAX have added around 3-4% of value. Other notable price gainers since yesterday include HYPE and CRO, as the exchange behind the latter launched in the US.
