My current voting philosophy is trending towards wanting nouns to support internet scale public goods. It’s where I truly believe nouns can have the most impact, especially while the treasury is dwindling with no clear way to bring it back up. For that reason, I don’t think berries really fits my model of a good prop. That said, I think this is insanely cool. My alma mater was known for making a ton of different apple varieties so it’s cool to see the same applied to berries here. My gf also does sustainable ag as a career so this topic is close to me and important. I’d definitely prefer something like this to a number of recent proposals that imo were a bad use of money

I’d love for nouns to branch out of internet public goods and I think something like this is a great candidate. But atm I haven’t felt like nouns has had much impact outside of crypto public goods. All of the irl activations seems to have fallen a bit flat especially for the cost, but once nouns gets to the place where it’s a bit more financially healthy I think something like this is a great combo of 1. Cool 2. Public good 3. Nounish but not overly nounish (the brand doesn’t have to be the damn nogs but the name of the berry could be a nod to nouns) 4. Supporting communities irl but not hyperfocused in a way that doesn’t scale 5. Inspiring for others in and out of nouns Surprised it didn’t pass originally given the history of others props that have passed. I’ll have to read everyone’s VWR though

bias towards internet scale public goods was a factor for people too. i don’t disagree; am also personally biased towards irl private goods. the first go round of the prop (#465) had more info about the conditions farm workers face in the field. as 40 said, it’s not a public good strictly defined, but certainly an opportunity to do good with Nouns and provide a common resource to people who have may not otherwise have access also opens up Nouns to audiences that are underexposed, ie researchers/ universities, philanthropists (though tax-treatment of their donations could be an issue for them,) and government officials scalability/ replicability was a key factor in the project design. agreed on a bit surprised it didn’t pass, it’s a social DAO at the end of the day and alignment with key players was (maybe) a bigger factor than it is today others have commented i didn’t do enough to express that return it would have for Nouns. glad you were able to intuit it as others have
