Can someone help me understand how Warpcast accounts work?

The account creation experience was scary. I had to choose between entering an existing seed phrase in the UI (insane), or having Warpcast generate a seed phrase (also insecure).

Later I was able to connect my existing account, but only after doing the above.

In my opinion, we should not encourage people to store seed phrases in password managers

I worry about my Farcaster account being dependent on a seed phrase that has touched an internet-connected device. As Farcaster scales, this indentity could become quite valuable!

I also worry that this practice might reinforce unsafe behaviors for newer web3 users :)

We automatically create a new seed phrase specifically for Farcaster use for everyone signing up. Warpcast is a wallet under the hood.

Connecting your account is just a EIP-712 proof to associate that other address with your Farcaster account.
