Ledger co-founder David Balland was kidnapped and a cryptocurrency ransom was demanded. Sounds like they cut off one of his fingers and sent it with the ransom demand.

He was rescued by GIGN and multiple suspects are in custody.

I don't want to make fun of the situation and I'm happy he was rescued, but I'll point out that Ledger is still selling this product designed to show off your Ledger Nano in public. Seems irresponsible at this point.
