The good news is actual safe bridging between L2s is coming. Hyperbridge by Polytope Labs uses Polkadots beefy consensus to offload work there, so you get the entire security of Polkadot instead of a multisig. Its not instant so the multi chain experience will still be different from Solana, but is an improvement.
