It would be great to create such a fund that would (at least symbolically) financially support non-profit organizers of meetups around the world, conferences or hackathons like us! Events are an essential part of the Ethereum community, much like the protocol.

Commercial incentive lures away a lot of talent - the events credible-neutral non-profit sector lacks incentives in a similar way to the lack of incentives for Ethereum protocol development
