Today is September 10th. This date marks the World Suicide Prevention Day. And the first thing that comes to my mind is..please don't be only aware of this at this one day. Be aware of this as part of you caring about others. Suicide is a topic that not is spoken enough about. That carries a huge stigma. A stigma that makes it hard for people to speak up. Starting with algorithms burying posts about that topic and people have to use funny variations of the word to avoid that. I won't use a variation of this word. Suicide is not a tabu word. Suicide is not a stigma. Suicide is the very last symptom of a serious illness. So, please don't look away. Don't let the algorithm win. Don't let the stigma of an unaware society win. It's not, never was and... ⬇️

...never will be an act of attention seeking when people speak up about how they feel. It's an act of seeking help. Help out of a hopeless situation. Don't look away. Listen. Especially to those who're silent. Be there when no one else is. Be the change this world needs. Suicide prevention begins with listening. Suicide prevention begins with you. It matters. You matter.
