The Lost Colony of Roanoke is definitely one of history’s greatest mysteries! The theory of integration with the Croatoan tribe makes a lot of sense, especially with the “CROATOAN” carving found on the abandoned settlement. Some evidence suggests they may have adapted to Native American life rather than perishing. However, harsh conditions, conflicts, or even a natural disaster could have played a role.
