The client and protocol used to have the same name -- Farcaster. I think the client should have kept the name Farcaster and the protocol should have been named Warpcast. The Farcaster meme is just too strong (even back then) and is usually first touchpoint for new users (instead they have to learn about Warpcast).

I really like Farcaster as the protocol name. It's more descriptive of the permanence/immutability of what users own. We can go FAR. Warpcast is all like - we're the sexy best-in-show app that gets you going FAR >> FASTER. The difference here is a new concept for normies in Web2, well captured by the names as they are.
