Jamie Dimon, director ejecutivo de JP Morgan, el mayor banco de EEUU, acaba de anunciar que permitirá a sus clientes comprar bitcoin, si bien el banco no lo custodiará. Esta es la evolución de la doctrina ‘Dimon’ respecto a bitcoin: Dimon (2017): “Si algún empleado de JPMorgan realiza operaciones de inversión con bitcoin en nombre del banco, será despedido en un segundo. Bitcoin va contra las reglas y la ética de nuestro banco”. Dimon (2023): “El único caso de uso verdadero de bitcoin es para criminales, traficantes de drogas, lavado de dinero y evasión fiscal. Si yo fuera el Gobierno, lo cerraría”. Dimon (2025): “Vamos a permitirte comprar bitcoin. No creo que debas fumar. Pero defiendo tu derecho a hacerlo. Del mismo modo, defiendo tu derecho a comprar bitcoin". La coherencia de las convicciones éticas del ‘amigo’ Jamie se puede resumir en esta célebre frase: “Estos son mis principios. Si no le gustan, tengo otros”. 🤡

Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan, the largest US bank, has just announced that he will allow his clients to buy bitcoin, although the bank will not hold it in custody. This is the evolution of the 'Dimon' doctrine regarding bitcoin: Dimon (2017): 'If any JPMorgan employee conducts bitcoin investment transactions on behalf of the bank, they will be fired in a second. Bitcoin is against the rules and ethics of our bank.” Dimon (2023): “The only real use case for bitcoin is for criminals, drug dealers, money laundering and tax evasion. If I were the government, I would shut it down.” Dimon (2025): “We're going to allow you to buy bitcoin. I don't think you should smoke. But I defend your right to do so. Likewise, I defend your right to buy bitcoin.” The consistency of 'friend' Jamie's ethical convictions can be summed up in this famous phrase: “These are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others”. 🤡

1.- David Bailey, Trump advisor, has raised $300 million to launch a publicly traded Bitcoin investment Company (to replicate Michael Saylor's treasury strategy). 2.- US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s firm has put nearly 40% of its top equity holdings into Strategy, the company most leveraged by Bitcoin. 3.- Brandon Lutnick, son of U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald, is promoting a publicly traded Bitcoin investment vehicle, 21 Capital, which is also backed by SoftBank, Tether, and Bitfinex. Conclusions: A. Someone has privileged information about the next steps the United States federal government will take regarding Bitcoin. B. Ethics and the Trump administration are two concepts that don't go well together.

New Hampshire has become the first U.S. state to approve a "Strategic Bitcoin Reserve" and can now invest up to 5% of the state treasury in BTC. The governor, Kelly A. Ayotte, has just signed the law.

Someone 35 years old today could retire with an income of $50k a year spending or borrowing using his bitcoin as collateral if he had already accumulated 5.3 bitcoins. If that same person were to wait until 2030, at age 40, he would only need 2.17 bitcoins. In 2035, 1.14 bitcoins would be enough for him. Amount of bitcoin a person would need to retire proposed by X user @sminston_with (assumptions of a 7% annual inflation rate and a life expectancy of 100 years).

En reiteradas ocasiones, desde la gestora Vanguard se aseguraba que no entraban a invertir en Bitcoin ni se planteaban ofrecer un ETF de BTC al contado porque era un activo que no se alineaba con la moral de sus clientes en el sentido de que Bitcoin era empleado para actividades ilícitas. Resulta que acabamos de saber que Vanguard Growth Index Fund ha comprado 646.574 acciones de Strategy por 200 millones de dólares a un precio promedio de 310 dólares por acción en el primer trimestre de 2025, de modo que sus tenencias totales son ya de 2,6 millones de acciones por un valor de más de 950 millones de dólares. ¿Dónde quedaron las convicciones éticas de los gestores de Vanguard? “Entre el honor y el dinero, lo segundo es lo primero”. Es lo que suele ocurrir con esas declaraciones tan pomposas e hipócritas.

Vanguard has repeatedly assured that they did not invest in Bitcoin because it was an asset that did not align with the morals of their clients in the sense that Bitcoin was used for illicit activities. It turns out that we have just learned that Vanguard Growth Index Fund has purchased 646. 574 shares of Strategy for $200 million at an average price of $310 per share in Q1 2025, so that its total holdings are now 2.6 million shares worth more than $950 million. Where did the ethical convictions of Vanguard's managers go? That's what usually happens with such pompous and hypocritical statements.

El banco UBS publica anualmente el Global Wealth Report. En su último informe, revela que hay 58 millones de personas con más de un millón de dólares de patrimonio, lo que representa el 0.70% de la población mundial. Hoy hay casi 20 millones de bitcoins en circulación, pero muchos se han perdido para siempre y otros los poseen alguien que no parece que los vaya a vender: Satoshi, Saylor, etc. Los bitcoins a la venta en los exchanges y en OTC no superan los 3 millones. Cuando muchos millonarios deseen adquirir, al menos, un bitcoin, no van a poder. 😏

The UBS bank publishes the annual Global Wealth Report. In its latest report, it reveals that there are 58 million people with more than 1 million dollars of wealth, which represents 0.70% of the world's population. Today there are almost 20 million bitcoins in circulation, but many have been lost forever and others are held by someone who doesn't seem likely to sell them: Satoshi, Saylor, etc. The bitcoins for sale on exchanges and OTC do not exceed 3 million. When many millionaires wish to acquire at least one bitcoin, they will not be able to.

Desde el inicio de la guerra arancelaria de Trump (10 días), bitcoin se ha comportado con menor volatilidad que los índice S&P 500 y Nasdaq. Esto era impensable hasta hace bien poco. Estos datos demuestran que bitcoin se va convirtiendo en un activo más maduro y que se va a ir desacoplando paulatinamente del comportamiento de la bolsa americana (de hecho, bitcoin ya se ha recuperado de toda la caída provocada al iniciarse la guerra arancelaria mientras que las bolsas todavía tienen que recuperar la mitad de las caídas). No obstante, bitcoin está todavía muy lejos de la volatilidad muy reducida del oro, pero poco irá recortando esa diferencia.

Since the start of Trump's tariff war (10 days), bitcoin has behaved with less volatility than the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indexes. This was unthinkable until very recently. These data show that bitcoin is becoming a more mature asset and will gradually decouple from the performance of the US stock market. It is still a long way from the very low volatility of gold, but it will gradually close the gap.
