“Moderation angst outburst over at #BlueSky - the team is protocol people, not Trust&Safety people, so they're struggling a bit. The degree to which the world has started to understand the centrality of T&S is surprising and good.”

The strategy @dwr.eth points to wrt this (probably constellation of difficult forces) is a rich multi-client ecosystem around the protocol. Individual trust/safety/moderation approaches surface within each client's design. Messy [but/and] free.

My sense is that @dwr.eth and @v have been super careful in keeping the noise down simply by keeping the size of the network small while the protocol design gets refined on a "minimum-viable" population.

That won't last as it scales, but I guess the hope is dealing with that atop a hi-performing, functionally useful, credibly neutral protocol is a more strategic baseline upon which to innovate with larger human/group population dynamics.
