I’m on the fence still. A little stunned considering how much “we’re in this for the long haul” mentality Proof has had. Part of the reason I started building in web3 is because of Kevin, to be honest. So it’s a little disheartening personally to see and feels like they lost faith in web3 in some ways.

No horse in the race but general sentiment from ape holders is 👎🏻 - unclear on where they fit - adds confusion to general strategy - meebits still need lots of attention The pros are gaining the balance sheet without much dilution (likely) and getting exposure to a more “fine art” crowd.

it's probably net good for moonbird/mythics. yuga has a bigger opportunity to make those concepts into brands than Proof did as a standalone org. that being said, i don't think anyone has proven how to sustain or return value to PFP nft holders. jury still out on that.

Terrible decision. Unnecessary burden especially since they are still working on their own projects still. And it’s not even good IP (not even taking into account CC0). Acquiring Cool Cats would have been a way better move.

I can’t see it adding much value to current Yuga collectors except maybe access to art. Good for Proof and MB and great long term for magic eden. Overall not the move I’d make given the reputational risk and pressure to deliver on other expectations: otherside esp.

Single IP (aka focused) plays like Pengus or Doodles seem like they're doing way better than the conglomerate Yuga or Proof strategies. Yuga & Proof both had complex ecosystems/too much to track already, and now they're combined??

I had wondered if the Proof team was just ready to be done with it. The acquisition (ostensibly) gives all three groups — Yuga, Proof, Moonbirds holders — more trust & upside by starting over somewhat. The comments below suggest otherwise, though. 🤞_(ツ)_🤞

Bad move all around IMO Yuga already struggling atm and now have more people to worry about and attention diverted into a space they aren't really already involved in (fine art or whatever) And with PROOF run into the ground, Kevin is supposed to be the advisor? Smells more like a16z forced this to consolidate
