I’m on the fence still. A little stunned considering how much “we’re in this for the long haul” mentality Proof has had. Part of the reason I started building in web3 is because of Kevin, to be honest. So it’s a little disheartening personally to see and feels like they lost faith in web3 in some ways.

Starting with the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Yuga Labs rapidly broadened its horizon by acquiring projects like Cryptopunks, Meebits, and recently Moonbirds. These acquisitions enriched Yuga Labs’ offerings and solidified its market position as an NFT leader.

mmm I don't see the fit. I have a hard time seeing Kevin running the fine art side of Proof from inside Yuga. Moonbirds I can see fitting into a Bored Ape Universe.

it's probably net good for moonbird/mythics. yuga has a bigger opportunity to make those concepts into brands than Proof did as a standalone org. that being said, i don't think anyone has proven how to sustain or return value to PFP nft holders. jury still out on that.

No horse in the race but general sentiment from ape holders is 👎🏻 - unclear on where they fit - adds confusion to general strategy - meebits still need lots of attention The pros are gaining the balance sheet without much dilution (likely) and getting exposure to a more “fine art” crowd.

Power move. Tons of ways to add value for proof. Especially if Yuga fixes the CC0 problem. As an ape holder I’m like who tf cares, where’s my goddamn clubhouse?

Nobody complains about Disney diluting their own ecosystem with ip acquisitions. Maybe Yuga is thinking big media like Disney.

It’s just an acquihire with common investors consolidating their investments and giving KR an off-ramp…

It’ll be interesting to see what the aftermath of acquisitions looks like for a project where exclusivity and community are at the forefront.

I think from financial side it seems like a good deal. But they should thank KRO and say goodbye because that “advisor” role is giving them just a bad PR. I dont think he should not advise, but this yuga advisor public role he put there is not doing any good to nobody

Terrible decision. Unnecessary burden especially since they are still working on their own projects still. And it’s not even good IP (not even taking into account CC0). Acquiring Cool Cats would have been a way better move.
