Zeno of Citium (c. 334 - c. 262 BCE) was a Greek philosopher who is widely regarded as the founder of Stoicism. Stoicism is a philosophical system that emerged in the 3rd century BCE and became one of the dominant schools of philosophy in the Greco-Roman world.

A school that emphasized the stability and uniqueness of reality and the baselessness of sensory knowledge about multiplicity and changeability. Zeno is more famous for the paradoxes that he raised in defense of the Elea school and the opinions of his teacher Parmenides
