the coolest moments in crypto always happened when a group of friends discovered a way to print money from thin air

bitcoin -> icos -> defi yield farming -> nfts -> memecoins + long tail of mechanisms like degen tipping

printing on degen tips was how most of us got hooked on farcaster

but degen tipping was never economically rational, always very exploitable and always very exploitable

the magic of it is that there is literally no right number or the right solution to make things grow — it's all organic, chaotic, irrational

this is why:
- if i was running degen i would optimize for as many tips, as valuable as possible, while being aware that some % of that may be farmed

- i trust @jacek witch his decisions and vision — he has always been a fantastic steward of the community. most crypto founders crash out after just 10% of shit jacek had to eat this year. and people like jacek make the irrational magic moments happen

tbh at this stage, and perhaps this will not be a popular opinion, $degen probably keeps more people away than it brings in

too many rules that change too quickly, no clear direction, lots of bagholders, very convoluted  - people think they are late and why bother

I grab this idea for remember why rule can crate confusion and fear to continue and not assurance for the future .

Bans Update

We're applying bans as we wrap up Season 12. In Season 13, all bans will be reset, giving everyone a fresh opportunity to earn tips.

At the end of each season, we'll reevaluate activity using a rule-based analysis of our choosing to weed out behavior that closely aligns with farming. To prevent gaming the system, we won't announce rules in advance but will use various techniques to monitor how tips are being distributed.

I think or today openrank jacek score  will just fly into space with all these mentions.... I wanted to invest 1k$ in degen tomorrow of my own money so as not to feel too small with 200 degen a day but now I'm glad that I was sitting on pumpfan and gamble

Looks like I just lost lost my allowance. 

I followed the t4t rules and never did the mcdegen (mint.club) thing

@jacek unlocked my 300k so I can withdraw it or reinstate my allo please. 

There’s no clear way to fix these things and to happen the day before the claim is stupid. Hopefully it’s just a bug.

You promote mcdegen for support degen chain but you ban for it … no tip4tip but if someone tip you from spammy list you are banned … so much rule broken because you don’t work for ecosystem…

Quick breakdown summary of the space hosted by @burrrrrberry concerning @jacek’s decision on degen and its users.

I requested to speak on the space at a point cause no one was really asking or saying the right thing until s3an and Burrr (God bless you guys), but i guess i was late.

Jacek: gives a rule last year on how tipping should be less than 15 times given/received yes?
Sounds fair, then proceeds to giving 3 days rollover, that’s super cool, now farmers can wash less than 15 times in a month without being affected.

(i do think the rollover is a great idea though)

Oh wait! There’s more, by the end of January i would bring up the query and immediately ban users who have “ABUSED” this rule of the T4T risks and maybe listen to their plea about unbanning them for the next season (no care about payments they must have received from degen tips?)

Also does that mean most /microsub users will get banned too or rather have a lot of tips gone? @downshift.eth ,i don’t think i got that part right

looks like a number of people were banned by using a method (mcdegen) that @jacek approved of and casted about many times.    

i am very much against instituting something, promoting it, and then banning people because they used it...
