What happened w/ majors vol yest? Some thoughts...

(1)

 's $EVIV - $BVIV vol spread compressed in a -2std move as majors sold off, with $BTC the strong under-performer in flat price  (-7% on the day at one point), before retracing losses in the following session... 
(2) Although it's days like yest where long gamma might feel worth it...or even if we think back to the 2nd-half of May when spot-vol correlation felt like a divine gift (anyone remember $ETH up 20% / vol up 20%?)...implieds still feel a bit rich...
(3) Part of what's kept vols elevated might be driven by deferred spec activity  that's gone through (e.g. >35k of the Sep2024 4000 $ETH calls have gone through this past week, and thousands of Sep/Dec 90k calls in $BTC)
Oh sweet vol gods, as we sit here in the summer lull waiting for #ETH ETF news, US elections, and macro/rates policy with bated breath, is long f2b the move?
