Electric/smart cars are by definition stacks of sensors on wheels that record and map the environment. China has long prohibited Tesla vehicles from entering certain areas in the country, setting the case for the west treating its vehicles as "dangers to national security".

China has become the largest car exporter in the world and is trying to build a new growth model - this will be a severe blow that will make it difficult for its economic recovery.

Deglobalisation will divide the world into two parallel tech stacks that gradually be less connected to each other. 
The prioritization of national interests over economics will contribute to inflation in a snowball that is very hard to stop.
