I think about this a lot. I think some kind of farewell tour or merch item / album that can be purchased with the tokens and then burnt would be the best way to go. Acquire what you can of the supply before any announcement & maybe freeze trading (if this is possible!) to stop people trying to tout the tokens etc.

I think it largely depends on how influential the celebrity is/was.
Club 27:  K. Cobain, J. Morrison, J. Joplin or artists like V. Gogh only grew in popularity. 'Small 'celebrity? Likely dumps to 0 during their living.
