Now I've read a statistic in a Swiss newspaper that most locals can't sleep without a phone at night, and for 60%, a mobile phone has replaced a book on the bedside table. Among the younger generation (under 40 years old) this figure has reached 79%. A study conducted in the country showed that a third of the Swiss population suffers from sleep disorders and associate it with the phone in their hands. I also fall asleep with the phone and wake up with it, alas.

There are more than 900 items in total, including costumes, swords and weapons, jewelry and other significant items from the HBO series. The most expensive item was the Iron Throne — after six minutes of bidding, it was sold for $1.49 million. In total, fans spent more than $21 million to buy props

An 81-year-old South Korean pensioner decided to prove to everyone that age is not a hindrance and got a job as a model. She had been dreaming about this since she was 20 years old, but due to life circumstances, it took her another 50 years to achieve her goal. She worked as a nurse and trained at home at night to walk in heels and pose. The woman has already participated in fashion shows and beauty contests, starred for magazines and TV.

It's nice to see when large companies carefully approach the creation of corporate merchandise and attract stylish brands for collaborations. For example, the latest ZNY collection is a synthesis of technology and comfort.

A new 12-meter work of art on a square in Naples has caused confusion not only among tourists, but also among locals. The creation of the late Gaetano Pesce called "Tu si'na cosa grande", as conceived, is an interpretation of the costume of the classic character of the Commedia dell'arte Pulcinella with two red hearts pierced by an arrow. Well, somehow it turned out that way.

The pet turned on the self-cleaning mode on the touch panel of the oven while the residents were sleeping, which led to a fire. Fortunately, the fire remained inside the oven, and the owners of the house were woken up by smoke detectors. This prudent family even had a fire extinguisher at hand, so the flames were quickly extinguished. Conclusion: just in case, buy special protective covers if you have animals at home

Spanish olive trees are "moving" to Hungary because of the drought in the country. One 55-year-old entrepreneur has already "saved" and transported about 200 trees in this way, planting them in his vineyard in Hegimagas. He takes the hand-picked olive harvest to Slovenia, where olive oil is made from it. Spain, which normally supplies about 40% of the world's olive oil, has been suffering from a poor olive harvest for the past two years due to heat and drought.

The Japanese are introducing the country's first decree to protect workers from the service sector. The fact is that lately there has been a growing aggression of customers towards the staff, although Japan is famous for its exceptional service. Here is one such absurd example. A customer called the manager of a supermarket in Tokyo, saying that the tofu he had bought had gone bad. An employee came to the buyer's home to resolve the situation and found that the tofu had been bought two weeks ago. The manager, maintaining diplomacy, tried to explain everything carefully, but the client still forced him to apologize on his knees. A survey conducted this year showed that almost every second employee in the service sector, which accounts for 75% of those working in Japan, was subjected to tantrums from customers: from insults and excessive demands to violence.

Alabama has the only store in the country (I don't know if there are similar ones in the world) for lost travelers' belongings. That is, there you can buy something from lost and unclaimed luggage for a low price (when the owner is not found for at least 90 days). The store is in an exclusive partnership with major airlines, which supply the "goods" to the store. There is also a museum department with especially rare items that are not for sale. The store's most expensive item, for example, was a men's Rolex watch, which was sold there for $32k.

In France, 105 years later, the last accordion manufacturer in the country announced its closure. The owner of Maugein blames this on competition from China and the pandemic. The distinctive sound of these instruments could be heard in the film "Amelie" and in the songs of Edith Piaf.

In New York, rats will be fed contraceptives to control their fertility. They have already had a similar experience, but it has not brought any results. It is reported that now the bait will be more tasty and rodents will like it.

An unusual gesture from the pilot. A United Airlines plane (from San Francisco to Houston) made an emergency landing immediately after takeoff due to a passenger who needed medical attention, which led to a long delay. In order for the other 150 passengers not to worry too much about this, the pilot ordered pizza for everyone, since food vouchers could not be used (restaurants were closed at night). The story of the generous pilot quickly spread on social networks.

Germany, France and Switzerland faced an invasion of aggressive ants of the Tapinoma magnum species. Previously, on European territory, they were found only in Corsica, but now this species has spread further and damages infrastructure, bites people, threatens agriculture. Some even move to other areas because of them. These ants do not attack each other, but unite into one supercolony with millions of individuals and capture more and more area. Tapinoma mangum has already caused several power outages and paralyzed Internet networks in the German city of Kehl after cables were bitten through. Scientists believe that their invasion is related to climate change

Everyone knows Copenhagen as a gourmet paradise, but in addition to the expensive Michelin restaurants, the so-called "communal restaurants" (fællesspisning) are also popular here. This is for those who want to eat out, but on a very budget basis. Here, for example, is one of these places in the photo. The building of the former church houses the people's house, where up to 200 people sit at communal tables and have dinner. There are no waiters, the products are local. It's not really a dining room, in our understanding, it's a kind of entertainment. Tickets must be bought in advance, the menu is always different and unusual. It costs €8 per person, children are free. For budget tourists in expensive Denmark, these are popular places.
