What can you buy for $48.5 million? For example, a six-bedroom oceanfront house designed in the 1950s by renowned American architect Harry Gesner was valued at this price. Well, according to the latest digest of the most expensive smartphones in the world, this amount will have to be paid for the Falcon Supernova iPhone 6 Pink Diamond. The phone is wrapped in 24-carat gold and decorated with a large pink diamond. It is said that this is what Nita Ambani, the wife of the richest man in India (who had a wedding of the century), uses.

The number of hotel bookings on Koh Samui increased by 44%. And all because the third season of the TV series "White Lotus" was filmed here. The key location was the five-star Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui. There are already concerns that the island may face disastrous consequences for the environment due to its popularity. Guests of the premium resort consume 10 times more water, and there is simply no infrastructure for garbage collection, which thousands of vacationers will bring with them. Let me remind you that the Thai authorities have already faced the problem of overturism on the island of Phi Phi Le, where they filmed the movie "The Beach" with DiCaprio.

And here's what the smallest apartment building in the world looks like. Its creator, American designer Levi Kellium, managed to place almost everything necessary on an area of 1.8 m2 and spent about $ 5k on construction. Electricity is provided by solar panels installed on the roof and outdoor amenities. So if claustrophobia didn't catch up with you while watching the previous post, now is the time.

The smallest house in the UK has been put up for sale for 235,000 pounds. It has only one bedroom, a kitchen-dining room, a shower room and a living room. Despite its small size, the real estate agency reported that potential buyers' interest in the house was "fantastic."

While on average each of us leaves behind about 1 kg of garbage per day, this Norwegian resident managed to live for a year and a half so that all her household waste fit into a jam jar. This was made possible by a very creative approach. For example, her food waste is processed by a thousand worms, which she ordered online and placed in a gray container in the photo. In the end, there was only what she didn't think was suitable for recycling inside the jar. It is noteworthy that no garbage was burned during this time.

As early as this spring in France, students will have their briefcases examined at the entrance to school due to the increased incidence of violence among students. Such searches will be conducted by the police and will look for weapons from young people (mainly knives). This was announced by the country's Minister of Education. Just in early February, a 17-year-old high school student was seriously stabbed on the playground, which led to the adoption of such security measures.

Birkenstock is not a work of art, a German court has ruled. The world-famous sandals went to court to stop their competitors from selling shoes that were too similar to their brand, but their appeal was rejected because "the design cannot be protected by copyright." Birkenstock, by the way, has been around since 1774. And in 2021, they sold a stake to a company associated with the LVMH holding.

French cities have begun to actively fight against garbage on the streets. In Bordeaux, a fine of up to €875 is threatened for "not falling into the trash", and if you are seen spitting on the street, you will be fined €135. In 49 days of work, the new team issued 80 fines in the city. The city of Bayeux has focused on fighting cigarette butts. They installed special yellow ashtrays there, came up with a program for taking cigarette butts to special places and announced a fine of €35 for a cigarette thrown on the ground.

Australian authorities will euthanize 90 surviving killer whales that washed up on a Tasmanian beach. In total, 157 animals washed ashore. Many hours had already passed, which greatly reduced their chances of survival. Some whales dug so deep into the sand that their bodies, once out of the water, began to collapse under their own weight. Due to the surf, it is too difficult and life-threatening for rescuers to remove killer whales weighing from 500 kg to 3 tons and return them to the ocean. Therefore, it was decided to euthanize, as the animals continue to suffer. Given their size, this will be done with firearms.

In Russia, women may be allowed to breastfeed in social regions at the legislative level. Tatyana Butskaya, a State Duma deputy, said that the law would be written in such a way that no one could kick a woman out of a restaurant or other public place for breastfeeding. What do you think?

The mansion on Fifth Avenue, designed by renowned architect Stanford White, was put up for sale again, but at a big discount — for $49.9 million instead of $72.5 million. Inside the 11-bedroom house there is a whole historical legacy: nine handmade wood-burning fireplaces, a limestone staircase and restored stained glass windows. There is also a climate-controlled wine cellar, a steam room, a jewel vault, and a rooftop terrace. Well, and a view of Central Park. We rate you, friends

A 20-year-old Irish woman sued for £16,000 after a security guard in the Zara fitting room pulled back her curtain. She claims that she was not dressed, and the staff did it because they assumed that she was a thief. The girl is a popular ticker, so she said that her reputation had suffered, and she herself had experienced "monstrous humiliation." As a result, the judge ruled that the actions of the staff were illegal, awarding the girl compensation.
