According to TheBlock, the Web3 social network Friend Tech developers have given up control over smart contracts, and the platform has been largely shut down. Despite initial rapid growth, the release and airdrop of V2 version failed to reignite user enthusiasm. On September 8th, developers invoked the smart contract function to transfer control to an empty address on Ethereum, locking the current system and preventing further changes. The team clarified in the announcement on X platform: "Currently, any fees from smart contracts or websites will no longer flow to the Friend. Tech development team's multi signature wallet." Although the platform appears to continue operating, the relinquishment of control has made it almost impossible to introduce new features. According to TheBlock's data, the protocol has only generated approximately $60000 in protocol fees since June. At the September meeting of the Federal Reserve, the focus of the debate was on whether to start cutting interest rates by 25 or 50 basis points to prevent an undesirable weakness in the job market. The August recruitment and employment report will be the key to determining this decision. A decent employment report may prompt officials to start a possible series of interest rate cuts by 25 basis points. WorldLiberty Financial, a cryptocurrency project associated with Trump, will be based on the decentralized financial platform Aave and Ethereum blockchain, using a non transferable governance token WLFI and credit account system. The inspiration for this project is reportedly derived from the DeFi protocol DoughFinance, although it has not yet been confirmed whether it will use its codebase. Zachary Falkman and Chase Herro, co founders of Dough, also participated in the operation of the project. The privacy cryptocurrency project Firo has determined a new token issuance and block reward distribution plan through community governance processes. The new plan includes three main components: issuing 6.25 FIROs per block until the total reaches 21.4 million; Afterwards, implement tail issuance of 1FIRO/block; The allocation ratio of block rewards is 70% for main nodes, 5% for miners, 15% for development teams, and 10% for communities. The Firo core team stated that they will not propose any changes to token economics until the tail end issuance is reached to ensure stability. Microsoft cybersecurity researchers have discovered a zero day vulnerability in the Chromium engine, which provides support for browsers such as Chrome. This vulnerability was exploited by a North Korean hacker group called CitrineSleet, specifically targeting cryptocurrency users. CitrineSleet used a rootkit malware called FudModule to create fake cryptocurrency trading platform websites, enticing users to download malicious software or weaponized encrypted wallets, thereby gaining remote code execution privileges and stealing victims' encrypted assets. This vulnerability was fixed on August 21st, and users need to update their browsers as soon as possible to ensure security.
