A hand wavy idea I had: publishers like O'Reilly can license ChatGPT to build/fine tune their own model for question answering. They also pay content creators (authors) loyalties based on the queries. Users pay O'Reilly subscription for the knowledge base. Caveat: 🧵

As pointed out by others LMs are good at token prediction. Instead, ChatGPT has to capture the common sense of the world and has a consistent view of base knowledge to be useful not purely language modeling. LLM works well for constrained spaces like programming but not for general knowledge.
