A time-beaten but still expressive bust of Emperor Galba. It is made of silver foil and was used as an imago  by one of the Roman legions. 

The silver Galba was found during excavations in Herculaneum, a city covered with the ashes of Vesuvius in 79. Now the rarity is kept in the British Museum

In one of the buildings in Pompeii , a “blue” room was discovered.  Azure walls and soaring female figures representing the seasons. 

Archaeologists assume that this room was a sacrarium, i.e. a kind of family temple. It was the place where ritual actions were performed and the patron saints of the home dwelt.
