For now the algos have driven the opposite though making it seem that taste is often dictated more by what we have readily available. (and all the others are also listening/liking/creating) Of course, there are people who resist that and seek out their own niche - and maybe that will become a larger crowd over time. After all, it's much more rewarding imo :)
