there’s this term “blue mind,” coined by marine biologist Dr. Wallace Nichols to describe the meditative, calm state of mind we feel when we’re near or in or on or under water exposure to the ocean alters our brain chemistry, increasing the release of dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin your brain on nature >>>

this resonates a lot - just read an awesome book on it too that @wanderloots.eth recommended, called the nature fix by Florence Williams

a great book! And definitely resonate with the concept of blue mind. I found this more than ever when I learned to scuba dive 7 years ago, and even more so now that I just got my advanced scuba cert and have been practicing /mindfulness in the interim period. There's just something so calming & peaceful. I think it can also be improved with the ocean and waves, which tend to be almost perfect timing for the ideal breathing rate to induce relaxation
