You can't onboard the world's financial system without it. 

Trust is quickly fractured with downtime.

"But the UX of L2 sucks!"

This is such an easily solvable problem. In the last 2 years alone it's been 10x improved. Wallets will eventually abstract pain points away.

"But the fees are too high"

Ethereum L1 in the long term isn't where daily users will transact. It will be the DA/settlement layer. 

L2s will (and are!) taking care of the high fee issues

Slowness and Expensiveness is kind of tolerable.

Downtimes is unacceptable in blockchains.

But it’s ‘faster’!
