"I SHOULD HAVE GIVEN WIZKID A LISTENING EAR"
-Banky W finally drops an apology to Wizkid
"It's been years past now, E.M.E has been inactive. I missed those days of the baddest boy, with Wizkid and Skales by my side.
I remember Late OJB Jezreel telling me to bank on Wizkid because his future is very bright considering how he finished work with M.I on Fast money fast cars.
I took him in, gave him a home in EME because EME originated from Albany, and our mission was to take off talents from the projects and brand them into the American class.
Wizkid wanted to be an Afro version of Sean Kingston and a blend of Fela Kuti.
It wasn't an easy task on EME considering that we had a fight to first beat Kennis, Mo'Hits and Chocolate City who had the Industry Kings and other independent artists putting the work to have a space in the table.
Just imagine trying to bring a western concept into an Industry with Kings like; Terry G, Timaya, D'Banj, 2Baba, Wande Coal, Ice-Prince and M.I... A market where you just h… 0 reply

Flavour: 🗣️🗣️*"When P-Square was at the height of their career, there wasn’t any artist in Nigeria who could compete with them. They were never in competition with anyone—they simply led, and the rest followed.
I remember one particular performance in Enugu at a spot called City Center. I was on stage doing my thing when P-Square, fresh off releasing their hit song "Temptation," arrived to promote their upcoming show. The moment they walked in, the manager abruptly told me, ‘Stop what you’re doing.’ I hesitated for a bit, but the crowd, knowing P-Square was in the building, began urging me to leave the stage. Some were even getting aggressive.
I quickly handed over the microphone and stepped aside to watch. As soon as P-Square stepped on stage, the atmosphere completely changed. The crowd went wild. The moment they started singing, ‘This na temptation,’ the audience lost control, and around 100 girls fainted from the excitement. They didn’t even need to sing the full song—the … 0 reply

Angel Di Maria : ( on TYC 2023 ) : " When France scored the third goal, I started crying hard because I knew that the cup was rejecting us and didn’t want us, but when I saw Messi, I found him encouraging the players and motivating them and I said to myself, “How is this, a goal in the last minute after everything we did and wished for and we secured 90 percent of the cup and Messi is still with the same spirit and hasn’t lost hope?” When we won and went to the locker room, I asked Messi and said to him, “Did you feel at one moment that we would lose the cup?” He said to me, “I felt yes, but I remembered that I have soldiers with me and they are here to win the cup and they are very confident in themselves, so I said to myself that we will win today, we will not leave without the cup, so despite the draw, I didn’t lose hope because I am the captain and I have to motivate my players to win.” If I were in Messi’s place, I wouldn’t have been able to bear all those events. They were reall… 0 reply

“When I contacted Wizkid to be on my album, I thought he would ask me for money, so I was already preparing $500k to offer him. When I finally texted him about the song, I was shocked by his reply. He told me, ‘Asake, if I ask you to pay me for a verse, you wouldn’t be able to afford it. We are all Naija, and I love what you are doing for Afrobeats. Anytime you are free, come meet me in the studio; let’s do something together. I can’t charge my own people for verses. It’s either I like the song and give you a free verse, or I don’t reply to you at all.’
The next thing I knew, I was in the studio with him, and he was advising me on how to push my career forward. I just had to put my song with him as the first track on my album because it felt like a dream come true.”

Troost-Ekong was asked who is his goat Between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo:
" I don't want to get m@d, When he (Messi) scored the opening goal against us (Nigeria) at the World Cup, it was like slow motion, you can't really do anything you just have to watch him.
"I was close to cheering him because he was fantastic. He is a different quality. You can't see that he's reading the game, but when he comes alive there is not much you can do."
"I had the pleasure of playing against him (Ronaldo) in Italy. When he was playing for Juventus and I was playing for Udinese, he was an out-to-out number nine at that point.
"Of course, I grew up watching him as a winger. In Italy, he was very sharp, a great finisher, you just really can't take your eye off him if you're a defender," he said.
Ekong played safe - (Via talkSPORTS) 0 reply
