From experience, some things startups waste (a lot of) money on: - Legal costs (fine line here) - PR firms - Enterprise SaaS - Event sponsorships - Brand & marketing agencies What else?

Startups waste the most money on not solving a real problem. Not listening to customers, and not building something of value for them.

Clarification- PR before newsworthy and before you can handle capacity = waste. Basic Brand Identity = good spend While massive early branding campaigns = waste. Ad agency (just tiny part of marketing) too early before PMF and have built a good experience = waste. Building good brand experience = good spend.

Someone said this to me and it stuck: "founders think they're time-rich and money-poor but they're actually time-poor and money-rich so as far as possible trade money for time at the early stages"
