Our EIP-5827 is now in draft: https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-5827 

Instead of requesting unlimited approvals, this EIPs gives devs the ability to specify a spending limit every epoch (e.g. month) on ERC20 tokens. 

We built this standard so that we can build safer recurring payments for users.
